The devotion and religious art of Arenzano

The Carmelite Sanctuary of Infant Jesus of Prague dominates, up from the hill, the whole town. Built with majesty and harmony, the Sanctuary was decorated by many famous artists with different techniques. Among them the majolica by Angelo Biancini, and the Albisola ceramic crib by Eliseo Salino. The religious and cultural itinerary goes on to the Parish Church, devoted to the Saints Nazario and Celso. Built in baroque style, it hosts, on the main altar, a crucified Christ by the famous sculptor Anton Maria Maragliano. Close to the Parish Church it is located Santa Chiara oratory. Built during XVth century and recently restored. Very dear to Arenzano citizens, it is surrounded by olive trees. The Sanctuary of N.S. delle Olivete, it’s a small jewel, whose history is strongly linked to the maritime tradition of the town, as shown by several ex-votos kept in the church.
