A journey through breathtaking views and sacred places, which combines nature, culture and spirituality in every step.
The route of the Camino was born from the desire to propose a very varied itinerary, which ranges from the sea to the mountains and passes through places of great historical, cultural and religious interest. The nodal points of the Camino are the Sanctuaries, Basilicas and historic churches that are scattered along the route:
From a historical point of view, the most important themes are those linked to the iron routes (in Val Leira and Val Cerusa on the marine side, in the Orba and Stura valleys on the Po valley), the filigree industry in Valle Stura, the paths of San Francesco and Santa Limbania, the paper industry in Val Leira and Val Cerusa, the ancient coastal Via Romana and finally the Historic Center of Genoa.
From a naturalistic point of view we have great variety, passing from the sea-side valleys, with typically Mediterranean vegetation, to the ridge route which coincides for a stretch with the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri in the Piani di Praglia area, and then varying further on the Po valley side in the Stura Valley and above all in the wild area between Tiglieto and the Faiallo Pass, with the immense and extraordinary Selva dell'Orba.
