Discover a unique view by running on a pedestrian track along the sea, flat and completely paved or tiled, a step away from the cliffs in a typically Mediterranean vegetation: this special occasion is the "Half Marathon Arenzano", FIDAL race in a natural environment, that opens every year the International Walk “Mare e Monti”, during the second weekend of September.
21,097 km of competitive race, in the light of the sunset, along what was once the old railway: from the cycle path of “Fabrizio De Andrè” promenade in Arenzano, you cross the coast of Cogoleto and continue along the “Europa” promenade, to the “Nautilus” beach of Varazze for the turning point and then return to Arenzano. Great participation for this event, organized since 2008 by Polisportiva Arenzano and promoted by Arenzano Municipality, which, in addition to promoting sports, has, since 2012, the merit of involving all generations, including kids.
Immediately after the start of the "Half Marathon" the applause of encouragement of everyone is for the "Kids Run": every year more and more boys and girls from 6 to 12 years old, run for a kilometer along the Arenzano promenade, starting from Piazza Calasetta and turning point at Molo di Ponente.
The idea stems from the desire to create a context in which the high values expressed by the half marathon can be affirmed and disseminated: commitment, tenacity, strength, fairness, spirit of sacrifice, endurance and concentration.
